The cutter is secured to the end of the arbor with a flush seating machine screw, eliminating the threaded end of the arbor and retaining nut. Uses for a slot cutting bit are almost infinite. Now you can cut slots and grooves for splines, biscuits, T-molding or tongue and groove joints for flooring without worrying about the obstacle of an arbor and retaining nut.
