Product Description
The picture depicted represents one blade; the pricing is for one blade/package. NOTE: The owner's manual of some woodcutting bandsaw may stipulate that it can cut metal, but woodcutting bandsaws can only cut non-ferrous metals, such as aluminum, brass, copper, etc. Cutting steel could damage your saw, due to the fact that blade speed on most woodcutting bandsaws (average 800 to 3500 fpm) is not slow enough (40 to 200 fpm) for cutting ferrous metals (i.e. steel). Trying to cut steel at woodcutting speeds will ruin the blade due to extreme heat produced. Bi-Metal bandsaw blades can cut all types of woods and are especially ideal for hard woods, i.e. oak, maple, walnut or cherry. Bi-Metal bandsaw blades are also most commonly used for metalcutting, i.e. carbon steels, light alloy steels, mold steels, and tool steels. Following is a guideline for choosing an adequate tooth pattern to cut metal materials, Use 20 - 24 variable to cut 1/16" to 1/4" thick material, 14 - 18 variable to cut 1/8" to 3/8" thick material, 10 - 14 variable to cut 3/16" to 7/16" thick material, 8 - 12 variable to cut 1/4" to 1/2" thick material, 6 - 10 variable or 6 Hook to cut 5/16" to 5/8" thick material, 5 - 8 variable or 6 Hook to cut 3/8" to 1" thick material, 4 - 6 variable or 6 Hook to cut 1/2" to 2" thick material, 3 - 4 variable or 4 Hook to cut 3/4" to 4-1/2" thick material, 3 Hook to cut 1" to 6" thick material, 2 Hook to cut 2" to 12" thick material, There may be a number of other bandsaws or models that use the same blade lengths as the ones listed: 64-1/2 inch ( 5 ft. 4-1/2 inch, 5' 4-1/2" ) bandsaw blades suit the following models: Grizzly G9742; G1010, G0622; Northern Industrial H/V 4-1/2? Metal; ENCO 137-3150; ENCO 505-6840 (Model RF-128DR, RF-128HDR, RF-128DR-1, RF-128HDR-1); Jet HVBS-56M, HBS-565 5x6, HVBS-461, HVBS-462, HVBS-463, 3-Speed Horizontal/Vertical; Ohio Forge 510-505; Enco 137-3150, 137-3151, 505-6840; Central Machinery 591-3CEA; MIT 5120; see details
