The dirt removed is left around the edge of the hole in a loose, easy-to-pack condition. These versatile augers can also be used for mixing small batches of cement and mortar, mixing paints, putting up temporary fencing, installing real estate signs, tilling, mixing polymers in soil, taking soil samples, and mixing fertilizer and peat moss in small beds.The auger has a 1/2" drive.
